Partner Content

Open Source Press runs on trust. You read us because you expect the reporting to be ours, shaped by what we think is true and worth covering, not by who is paying. That expectation is the most valuable thing we have, and this page exists so you always know which is which.

The wall

Our editorial is independent. No advertiser, sponsor, or partner influences what we report, how we report it, or what conclusions we reach. Sponsors cannot buy favorable coverage, cannot place content without it being labeled, and do not review or approve our editorial before it runs. When we cover a company we have any relationship with, we disclose that relationship in the piece itself.

What partner content is

Partner content is material produced in partnership with, or sponsored by, an outside organization. Sometimes a partner has requested the piece or had input into it. Because that involvement is different from our independent reporting, we label every such article clearly with a Partner Content tag, and you can see all of it in one place at /tag/partner-content.

The level of partner involvement varies from piece to piece, so we disclose the specifics on each one. What never varies is that it is labeled. If it carries the Partner Content tag, treat it as coming from, or shaped by, the organization named, not as OSP's independent assessment.

What partner content is not

It is not a way to buy our editorial. A partner cannot pay to influence our reporting, cannot get an unlabeled placement, and cannot have a sponsored piece presented as if we arrived at it independently. We would rather turn down an arrangement than blur that line.

Disclosures

Even in fully independent work, the people behind OSP sometimes hold investments, or have business relationships, that touch what we cover. When that is the case, we say so at the foot of the article. Seeing a disclosure does not mean a piece is compromised. It means we are telling you what we know so you can weigh it yourself.

Work with us

If you want to discuss partner or sponsored content, we are open to it, on the terms above. Reach us at: theopensourcepress@protonmail.com

We read every inquiry, and we are candid early about what we will and will not do.
